Maine Friends of Animals
Nature Links participants were so lucky to have been joined last week by Maggie Wood and Jane Delson, representatives from Maine Friends of Animals. MFOA is our state’s largest and leading animal protection organization. For 25 years, MFOA has worked tirelessly to educate the public and promote legislation that helps advance the welfare of both wild and domesticated animals. During the presentation, Maggie and Jane walked us through a timeline of MFOA’s most critical work and discussed proposed legislation aimed to prevent “canned” hunting and dogs chained by their owners for more than 12 hours per day. They even gave us a few ideas for how Nature Links could become advocates for animals in our own communities.
Below is a recording of the presentation shared with Nature Links by Maine Friends of Animals. We are so grateful to Maggie and Jane for sharing this information with us and to MFOA for working to promote the humane treatment of animals throughout our state. Thank you MFOA!
