Nature Links Puppet Show!

Over the past few months, our crafty Nature Links participants have been hard at work creating original puppets by hand from reclaimed and recycled materials. Their puppet creations were inspired by the teaching of Peter Court, a puppeteer and educator from Durban, South Africa, who led a 6-week puppet series with Nature Links this fall. Peter taught us strategies for using discarded plastic bottles, cardboard tubes, wire, fabric, paper mache and other materials to turn them into lively characters, including wolves, mice, musicians, trolls, butterflies and lions. Then, each participant wrote scripts and choreographed original performances that we recorded and edited together. This week, we celebrated this incredibly hard work with our Nature Links Puppet Show, featuring puppet performances created entirely by our students. I hope you enjoy the videos below! An incredibly huge thanks to Peter Court for inspiring such a fun, creative project that has our Nature Links participants feeling very proud of themselves.
